This is my online version of my annual "Christmas In The Stars" Christmas card. I trust you will enjoy it and shall be inspired and illuminated by the image, verse and descriptor. I began this annual series in 1991 and it is... limited to 100 printed and signed copies. I realize that everyone does not share my religious belief and I do not intend this post to offed you in any manner. Please accept it as my sincere expression of peace and good will to everyone.

The Cosmos is wondrously filled with amazing phenomena beyond imagination. The portion of the Cosmos which encompasses the known "universe" is miniscule relative to the true size and nature of the entire Cosmos which likely harbors inestimable other universes. Cosmological science has accumulated relatively little data regarding the true nature and scale of the known universe let alone that of the Cosmos. The wonders of creation are both beautiful and mysterious as illustrated in this painting titled "Stellar Beacons ~ Wondrous Stars." The celestial canopy is filled with cosmic beacons created by some of the most bizarre phenomena in the universe, pulsar stars.* These stars are the remnants of massive stars that have collapsed to form neutron stars. They rotate with staggering speeds and their light beams appear as stellar beacons across the vastness of time and space. The quest to understand and explore the unknown has driven sentient beings since the dawn of time and yet humanity remains in the celestial cradle and is only now beginning to reach out to the Cosmos beyond its terrestrial abode. Since antiquity mortal beings have regarded celestial events as divine acts which shaped religious, social and political history. This influenced oral and written languages as well as overall philosophy and ultimately shaped civilization into what it is today. Ancient Biblical texts are filled with accounts of God speaking to humans through unique terrestrial and celestial events. The Star Of Bethlehem is unquestionably the most famous of celestial events for it signified the birth of the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ. This event and those that followed with the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (The Messiah) had, and continue to have, profound effects on world cultures and the events in human history. The birth of Jesus Christ was unique for His divine birth, sacrificial life and resurrection shall forever shine like a stellar beacon across time and space, lighting the way with love and forgiveness for all eternity.

*A pulsar is a pulsating star and is a highly magnetized, rotating neutron star that emits a powerful beam/beacon of electromagnetic energy. This radiation can only be observed when the beam of light is pointing toward the viewer, just as a lighthouse beam can only be seen when the light is pointed in the direction of an observer, and is what causes a pulsed appearance of emission. Neutron stars are very dense, and have short, regular rotational periods. This produces a very precise interval between pulses that range from milliseconds to seconds for an individual pulsar. The precise periods of pulsars makes them useful tools. Observations of a pulsar in a binary neutron star system were used to indirectly confirm the existence of gravitational radiation. The first extrasolar planets were discovered around a pulsar star. Certain types of pulsars rival atomic clocks in their accuracy in keeping time. Pulsars might be considered "the Cosmic time pieces" of God.
