"SpaceHenge" ©2011~ Michael C. Turner ~ Galactic Visions Space Art

A space "solstice" within a genesis nebula as viewed from the surface of a hypothetical planet with a Stonehenge-like configuration. (One of my archaeoastronomical paintings.)

*Featured in the new book "Machines and Magic" which is now available from AMAZON.COM. [link]

Originally created using acrylic on stretched canvas. I have applied some minor adjustments in colour and lighting digitally to enhance the original therefore, this might fit in the digital category as well. Overall it is still 90% traditional so I have listed it under traditional art.

Hey this is pretty cool. And it plays off the theory that Stonehenge might be an alien landing port or communication circle or something of the sort. In that way it's kind of comical. I wonder if it would look more appealing if you placed the big sun a little further to the side rather than so close to the center though. besides that though, I just love the bright colors of the sky and the misty stardust trails give it a really nice effect. Over all very nice. ^_^

I wouldn't be surprised if there were similar structures all across the universe(s).
