A brilliant star spreads its light across time and space, illuminating and inspiring the myriad sentient beings who witness such a Cosmic event . . .

Deep within the womb of a star-birthing nebula, one star outshines its stellar siblings as its gaseous core ignites with brilliant light, beaming thousands of light years across the galactic realm of space and time. A distant, extrasolar, planetary system is silhouetted as an imminent conjunction of stars, planets, and moons transit the starry heavens. This dramatic view is witnessed from the shadowy surface of a colossal asteroid in the foreground. One might easily ponder what stellar legacies such cosmic events may have inspired across the space-time continuum. Considering the ever increasing discoveries of many extrasolar planets orbiting distant stars in the Milky Way Galaxy and that there are innumerable galaxies in the known universe, myriad extrasolar planets most assuredly exist across the immense cosmos. Are any of these worlds host to sentient life such as on Earth? Consider that if only one-percent of the billions, possibly trillions, of stars in one galaxy harbored a solitary planet with intelligent life forms, there could be billions of planets with intelligent life in just a solitary galaxy. Factoring that there are billions of galaxies in the observable universe, and this number is likely an infinitesimal percent of the actual universe, the potential number of life-supporting planets is truly astronomical. Extrasolar planets may be inhabited by very similar or dissimilar life-forms in comparison to Earth based life and intellects. With God all things are possible; therefore the possibilities are indeed wondrously and infinitely limitless . . .

*According to Biblical scripture one star, as foretold in ancient prophecy, announced the birth of Christ and its one light guided ancient astronomers, the Magi, to The One Star and The One Light, the promised Messiah. These “Wise Men” presented costly gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh as royal symbols to The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ . . .

("One Star - One Light" is #17 in my Christmas in the Stars limited edition card series. [link] Each year I select one of my paintings to use on the cover of my "Christmas in the Stars" Christmas Card series which I began in 1991. I realize that everyone may not appreciate space art in this context however, I trust you shall still enjoy the paintings for what they depict scientifically if not spiritually . . . )

Greetings,

Thank you for your comments. I modified/changed/re-worked this using Corel Photo-Paint 12. An image of the original acrylic painting I modifed is in my DA gallery. It is entitled "Legacy ~ The Horus Factor." The only element you may recognize is the planet and moon which is in early waxing crescent phase in "One Star ~ One Light." Actually I made so many modifications and I doubt I should even have referenced that it was modified from the original painting.

Best regards,
Michael C. Turner
