Silently, deep in space your sacred hymns call to me;
Ancient hymns sung before the dawn of sentient souls.
Spiritual, mystical, enlightening messages of divine creation.

Soothing notes of sublime beauty and power,
Echoing through time and space until, at last,
They resound from my inner being.

Holy of Holies, Star Hymns, I know we are kindred spirits,
Separated by time and space; light years away, yet ever close.
Aliens and yet, strangely, we mirror each other's souls.

Sing your eternal hymns silent singers!
Let the myriad galaxies of stars join in the chorus,
Sing ye heavens, lift

Well, THIS is certainly different. Not my favorite of your space art, but definitely different, and still in a good way. It's much more festive looking, which is appropriate, considering the title and the current time of the year. ^_^ The swirling coming from behind the "castle" formation kind of reminds me of fireworks. I'm guessing that was your intention? If so, very clever. ;) Happy new year to you!

Greetings, Thank you for your comments. Yes, the "fireworks" effect was intentional. This is very different from my usual space art pieces and was intended so for the reasons you related. Actually, it isn't a favourite of my paintings either. It does produce the festive mood for the holiday and was fun to create and that is the primary purpose of this piece. Happy New Year, Michael C.
